I am honoured to be selected as a participant in the 2026 “Dancing with the Stars” extravaganza on November 27th at Caesars Windsor. Easter Seals became an important part of my life over 35 years ago when I was asked to have my company be the wheelchair sponsor at the Telethon. That deep connection with the children of Easter Seals and their need for assistance to purchase equipment drove me to become more involved.
I progressed from working as a provincial representative to becoming the chairman of the local Telethon event. That Telethon was a staple to raise funds for our Easter Seals children. Because of the effort of all our volunteers, we were able to raise enough donations over the years to enhance the summer camp in London, funding equipment purchases and enabling children to experience a wonderful summer of fun.
I became a board member of Easter Seals in Toronto, which gave me more insight into the workings of Easter Seals and the difficulties they face as a totally non-profit organization where there is no help from any government.
This is why events like “Dancing with the Stars” are so very important, and I am so happy to be a small part in making it successful.
