Leah Fuller began dancing at age six at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts (HCA). Training under HCA’s senior classical ballet teacher, Olga Krymchanska, Leah built a strong background in ballet. In both 2004 and 2005, she completed the Stelio Jazz Technique, graduated Highly Commended from The Russian Society of Ballet in 2011 and received the HCA’s Directors Award in 2011.
In addition to her classical ballet and jazz training, Leah has also studied in a variety of other dance forms including contemporary, belly dancing and lyrical. Growing up dancing, she has had a comprehensive performance experience with more than 15 years spent on stage as a performer.
Though Leah took a break from dance, a friend convinced her to go to a salsa class where her passion for dance was rekindled. She was introduced and fell in love with salsa, which began her journey into Latin dance. She trained rigorously in salsa and bachata. In October 2014, Leah placed third at DanceFeet’s Canadian Salsa & Bachata Championships in the Pro-Am Bachata division and second at The Baltimore Salsa & Bachata Congress in 2015.
Leah Fuller has studied under a variety of world-renowned teachers and coaches, such as Joel Dominguez, Maria Palmieri, Anya Katsevman and Tito Ortos. Additionally, she is one of the few Canadian instructors to have completed Tito Ortos’ Salsa Certification Course. Currently, she is a certified Life Coach and owns and operates Alegria Dance Company located in Hamilton, Ontario.
