Dr. Kassia Johnson (aka Dr. Koded) is the founder of Koded Kicks, a sneaker customizing business that uses people’s life stories to create art on their sneakers. Dr. Koded and Koded Kicks have had works displayed at New York Fashion Week, Hamilton Fashion Week and around the world in places like LA, Ghana, Jamaica and across Canada. Dr. Johnson is also a wife, mother, Developmental Pediatrician, and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at McMaster University, where she provides clinical services in the Child Development Clinics at Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre (RJCHC) in Hamilton, Ontario. Dr. Johnson’s passion for the health and well-being of people and communities is seen through her many advocacy roles in the City of Hamilton, at McMaster Children’s Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences and nationally through the Canadian Pediatric Society.
Back in the day, Dr. Johnson worked at an Easter Seals Camp as the Arts Director. The summer was filled with heat, joy and hard work that created cherished memories for campers and counsellors alike. As a Developmental Pediatrician, Dr. Johnson continues to see the value of Easter Seals on a daily basis as she completes many applications for the Incontinence Grant Program and participates in talking about Easter Seals camping experiences for many of her patients.
Dancing with Easter Seals Stars is the next opportunity to show up for her patients and their parents while having fun dancing!
