My name is Chantal Séguin, and I have over 25 years of experience in the civil construction industry. I’m fortunate to work for employers who support my passion for giving back and contributing to the community. Originally from northeastern Ontario, I’ve called this community home for the past eight years. I currently serve on the boards of the Barrie Construction Association and the Simcoe County Construction Association, where I’m committed to supporting industry’s growth and development.
As a proud Northerner from northeastern Ontario, I love embracing my roots—whether it’s unwinding at my camp, fishing, or hunting. When winter rolls in, you’ll find me snowmobiling to stay warm—because let’s face it, this one has delivered!
One of my proudest accomplishments was being elected as the first woman president of the Simcoe County Heavy Construction Association (SCHCA). In this role, I’m committed to paving the way for young people—especially women—to explore careers in the trades.
Over the years, I’ve managed multi-million-dollar highway projects, worked on the expansion of Highway 69, and contributed to major construction initiatives like the 2015 Pan Am Games. My journey has been hands-on—I started from the ground up, learning every aspect of the industry along the way.
I’m passionate about mentorship and workforce development, which is why I’ve helped with events that bring high school students and guidance counsellors to construction sites. By showcasing real opportunities in the trades, I hope to inspire the next generation to see this industry as a rewarding and fulfilling career path.
