Mary Mae Romero began her dancing journey at the age of 11, training in the Philippines with the prestigious Dancesport Team. Through her teens, she successfully competed in several World Dance Sport Federation events, winning numerous titles in both the Latin and Standard Ballroom styles.
Upon completing her university studies at the Cebu Institute of Technology, she relocated to Canada, along with her family, choosing to settle in Oakville. Shortly after her arrival, Mae then joined the team at Fred Astaire Oakville, successfully winning over the students with her magnetic personality and energetic teaching style – but don’t be fooled by her smile, this pint-sized mama of 3 is quick to correct you and put you in place if you Cha Cha out of step!
This will be Mae’s first time participating in Dancing with the Easter Seals Stars, but she looks forward to bringing out the best in her partner and making them shine – and hopes to put a smile on every face in the crowd!
