Tony Rizzuto has dedicated his life to supporting children—both in his long career as an educator and through his deep commitment to his community. From his early years as a Big Brother with the Children’s Aid Society to his work as an Educational Assistant, Teacher, and Principal, Tony has always held a special place in his heart for children with unique concerns and needs. His passion and dedication earned him recognition from the Council for Exceptional Children in two different roles, and he was honoured to be named one of Canada’s Outstanding Principals, a distinction that reflects his unwavering belief in the potential of every child. Now retired, Tony continues to champion young people as a proud supporter of Grandview Kids and Easter Seals and the kids they serve. Community involvement has always been central to Tony’s life.
He serves as the Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, St. Gregory’s Council 2671, working alongside a remarkable team committed to meaningful local service. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Oshawa Kicks Soccer Club, helping ensure the sport remains accessible and welcoming to all children. Since retiring in 2023, Tony has reconnected with his family roots in construction, where his contacts in the trades have enthusiastically joined him in supporting Easter Seals—demonstrating their shared compassion for kids and community. At home, Tony is surrounded by a family that shares and fuels his passion for helping others. He is married to a fellow educator, and together they have raised two wonderful daughters who have always cheered on his efforts both in the school and out in the community. A lifelong music lover, Tony treasures every opportunity to DJ.
He attended the 2025 Easter Seals Celebrity Dancer event and was inspired by Celebrity Dancer and former colleague, Martine Robinson, and her amazing performance. He is very grateful for the support given by his family, friends, and colleagues. We invite you to join him in supporting Easter Seals and the children who benefit from their care.
