Easter Seals has been a big part of my life. They are family to me. Not only because of the equipment that they have given me and the opportunity for my family to go to camp … but because of how they have helped me grow. When I became the Ambassador in 2020, I was afraid to speak in large groups and shy. Now, I am a confident 21 year old that is an advocate for myself and others with disabilities because of my ongoing experience with this fantastic organization.
My father is a Captain with the Toronto Fire Service and my Mom is a high school English teacher in Durham. My brother just finished his first year of Nursing at Brock University and he is a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor/Supervisor with Oshawa pools. My favourite sibling is my Golden Retriever Cali … she is almost 3 years old.
I graduated with Honours from the Early Childhood Education diploma program at Durham College, and I am now a Registered Early Childhood Educator. I finishing a secondary Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science at Durham College, currently with Honours. I will be starting an LTO with Grandview School or Grandview Children’s Centre in Ajax as an RECE for this coming school year.
I am the proud recipient of a Scholarship for Education for Easter Seals Ontario.
