I’m honoured to support Easter Seals and the Dancing with the Stars event that empowers kids with disabilities to succeed. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and by creating inclusive spaces and supportive environments, we help unlock their full potential. I see my participation in Dancing with the Stars as a chance to make an impact, learn more about the life-changing work of Easter Seals, and use it as a platform to raise awareness of their efforts to break down barriers and create a just society for individuals with disabilities. This is also an opportunity for me to grow personally and to push beyond myself by tapping into my creative spirit and the dancing queen within.
Born and raised in Niagara Region, Phil has called Aurora home for approximately 20 years; about the same amount of time he’s worked in municipal government and been a father. His 19 year old daughter, Maya, is studying at Guelph University and his son 16 year old son, Noah, is in Grade 11 at St. Andrew’s College.
Phil is the Town of Aurora’s Manager of Cultural Services. Public service is part of who Phil is and he is passionate about working at the grassroots level to make Aurora even better than it already is.
In his role as Manager of Cultural Services, Phil provides strategic leadership for municipal cultural development, leveraging Aurora’s cultural resources to cultivate the creative soul of the community and celebrate the diversity within our neighbourhoods.
Phil was instrumental in supporting the development of Aurora Town Square, which has become the Town’s cultural services headquarters. Through the creation of Town Square, Aurora has chosen to actively support a vibrant downtown, build a strong and vital cultural sector, and expand partnerships that contribute to a greater quality of life for everyone.
Phil is the recent recipient of the Jean Augustine Community Builder Award from the Aurora Black Community Association for his commitment to community engagement, social justice, and building bridges across Aurora.
