Tracy Walter grew up in Newmarket and returned here with her family in 1996. After two decades of experience in Business Development in the private sector of Tourism and Business Consulting, Tracy joined the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce as Business Development Manager in 2012 with a mandate to drive membership, increase revenue and raise the profile of the Chamber. Tracy became President & CEO of the Chamber in May of 2018.
Tracy was instrumental in launching Chamber initiatives related to youth and future workforce, including the launch of an annual Career Pathways Expo, Youth Initiatives Roundtable and collaboration with the York Region School Boards. In her role at the Chamber, Tracy works very closely with the other York Region Chambers & Boards of Trade and numerous community stakeholders and understands the importance of collaboration to achieve stronger outcomes.
Tracy is committed to community involvement and economic prosperity and is a member of Newmarket’s Smart Community Council, The Ontario Chamber of Commerce Policy and Advocacy Committee, YRP District 1 Community Liaison Committee, the Human Services Planning Board of York Region and a Trustee for the Newmarket Awesome Foundation.
