Born in Santiago, Chile in 1984, Tomas Covarrubias grew up in a working-class family, always focused on his studies, sports and music. In 2002 he entered the Faculty of Psychology at the Universidad del Mar in the city of Valparaiso, Chile. He finally graduated as a clinical psychologist in 2009, beginning to work at the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Chile. In subsequent years he focused his work on oncology and palliative care units, doing specialized studies at the Universidad Javeriana in Colombia and Stanford University in California, USA. This allowed him to expand his work field not only to clinical care, but also to health management at the governmental level and also to university teaching. In 2021, due to the difficult socio political situation his country was going through, Tomas decided to travel with his family to Canada, settling in the city of Sudbury, where he has worked in a renowned retirement home in the city, and currently works as a clinician at the Mariani and Associates mental health center.
Dancing is something absolutely new in Tomas’ life, who has never dedicated himself to dance even as a hobby, but recently his friends motivated him to do it due to the natural talent they saw in Tomas, proving that it is never too late to do new things.
