You may not recognize Sam in a dancing venue although she is well-recognized as a trailblazer in mining. She is an advocate and an executive leader with roles at Vale, Stantec, and Paramount Gold Nevada. Sam is past-President of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum and served on the boards of MIRARCO and Centre of Excellence in Mining. Outside mining, Sam is a huge supporter of the northern Ontario community as founding director of Women in Science in Engineering in Sudbury, and as a board member at Science North and Dynamic Earth and Laurentian University’s School of Engineering. She loves spending time in the outdoors with her family, a dog, and a horse. She has an immense sense of community pride and in helping to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all she does.
