Mike has a huge heart and will challenge himself to do pretty much anything, especially for helping children. In 2012, Mike ran from Thunder Bay Ontario, starting at the long where Terry Fox was forced to stop his “Marathon of Hope” in 1980, and continued Terry’s passion to help children by running 3,149 Kms in 81 Days to Victoria B.C.. 2 years later in 2014 in honour of one of his inspirations, Matteo Mancini who had the same cancer as Terry Fox, he ran 94 Marathons in 94 Days from St. John’s Newfoundland to his home town of Niagara Falls. This has now become his annual event called “Heaters Heroes” in honour of one of his mentors “Bob Heater Lavelle” and has helped over 120 children with terminal illnesses, life-altering illnesses, or injuries.
Mike is looking forward to facing his biggest challenge, dancing, in order to raise funds to help send children with physical disabilities to camp.
