Amanda is the former owner and artistic director of Extreme Dance Studio established in 2002, currently a competitive dance instructor at Dance Evolution Sudbury.
Amanda is well known in the dance and business industry within the community with over 20 year of teaching experience.
Amanda started her journey/training at the age of four studying Jazz, Ballet, Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre. As a competitive dancer for 15 years, and having won various awards, scholarships, and overall recognitions, she knew that dance was a gift and her true passion.
Amanda continued her journey to the enriched dance program at Sudbury Secondary School for the performing arts where she majored in Dance and minored in Dramatic Arts and has been involved in many main stage productions! Graduating with honours in 1999, Amanda received the Gary Gratton Bursary Scholarship and went on to train at Randolph Academy for The Performing Arts in Toronto.
After returning to her home town she jumped right into teaching and fell in love with her new career. In her first years of operation, Extreme Dance Studio Owner Amanda Tessier won the Ontera Youth Achievement Award for Business. Amanda is proud to have celebrated 16 successful years in business providing dance education and fitness to children as young as three years old.
Miss Amanda has received numerous choreography awards throughout her career, including people’s choice and nominations for choreographer of the year.
Her students are yet another one of her major accomplishments, winning overall high scores, top studio standings, and dance scholarships to major cities including Hollywood, New York, Greece, and Toronto. Over the years Miss Amanda’s students have been recognized for their technique, strength, versatility, and team spirit!!! Many of her students have professional careers in the dance industry today!
Amanda is also a full-time team member with the physiotherapy services at Finlandia Village. She is excited to bring dance and fitness to the residents and has recently expanded her knowledge by specializing in senior fitness.
